Don’t Live With Missing Teeth
Two options — one smart choice
You only have two options when faced with tooth loss: leave it as it is, or replace the missing tooth. It may be a brave thing to go out with missing teeth, but it is not a smart move — leaving a space in your gums can lead to further complications for your diet and appearance, and puts you at risk of losing more teeth.
Of all the solutions to this problem, dentists recommend replacing missing teeth with dental implants. Here at Serenity Dental, we choose options that are in the best interest of our patients — and Dr. Mangat holds fellowship status with the American Dental Implant Association.
Why replacement is the solution
Each tooth is connected to your jaw in two parts: the crown (the exposed part) and the root (attached to the jaw). When a tooth falls out, that space in the jaw loses its purpose — resulting in atrophy and weakening of the overall jaw. To make up for the space, neighbouring teeth begin to shift, leading to improper spacing. In a few years, the remaining teeth may follow suit — and no new teeth will grow out of those spaces. It’s time to replace them at once.
Your options for tooth replacement
Dentists will give you three options: removable partial dentures, fixed bridges, and dental implants. Of the three, dentists recommend implants because they provide a permanent solution. Implants are durable and act as a natural tooth — it will be as if you never lost your natural teeth at all. Unlike your original set, implants are resistant to tooth decay, saving you from future problems, and they prevent the cascade of jaw problems that follows tooth loss.
Dr. Mangat has advanced implant training and ADIA fellowship status — your preliminary assessment is in experienced hands.
